Spring of 2025 - Long-Range Facility Planning

Long-Range facility planning has kicked off with the first public committee meeting to begin reviewing facility assessment data and reports. Scott Rose, Sr. Project Manager of R&C Management is excited to begin this important engagement work with the community and district leadership to help best serve Gaston School District.

December of 2024 - Facility Assessments

Gaston School District hired R&C Management Group again to conduct Facility Assessments and Long-Range Facility Planning. Scott Rose, R&C’s Senior Program/Project Manager and Accredited ODE Facility Assessor will assess each facility in the district, documenting, and submitting all paperwork per ODE TAP Grant requirements. District wide assessments were completed during the holiday break.

“Did you know athletic wood floors should be completely sanded every 8-10 years as part of quality maintenance and longevity of the floor system? Gym floors typically have 4 sandings in them - meaning a 40-50 year life. Gaston’s main gym is 45 years old and has had a sanding every decade. With many dead spots, separating seams, and cracked planks, it is reaching the end of its life. We look forward to the spring planning sessions with the Gaston community as we explore all of the needs of this small and mighty district. Go Greyhounds!!” - Scott Rose, Sr. Project Manager, R&C Management Group

May of 2016 - Gaston School District Passes Bond

In partnership with their greater community, Gaston School District successfully passed a $12M bond measure. In addition to the bond measure the district received state grants which increased the total available funds to $18.3M. The combined budget empowered the district to provide for the expansion of the middle school, including new classrooms, a multipurpose building, an outdoor play facility. The bond program also provided for district-wide safety, security, and technology improvements, as well as necessary demolition and sitework.

Gaston School District hired R&C Management Group to provide Owners Representative Services in Program and Project Management.
