NEWS/PR: Bond Advisory Committee Reviews Progress, Momentum builds toward summer Construction in Gervais School District

GERVAIS, Ore. — The Gervais School District Bond Advisory Committee convened this week to review planning progress for the district’s upcoming construction projects, part of a broader effort to ensure transparency and community alignment as work funded by the approved 2024 bond measure moves forward.

The meeting was facilitated by Kyle Laier of ASSIST Oregon, who has played a key role in supporting the district throughout the planning process and helping coordinate communication between project partners and community stakeholders.

Representatives from Arcadis, the district’s architectural partner, and Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company (KNCC), the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC), provided detailed updates on current project timelines, design development, and coordination efforts ahead of a busy summer construction season. Both teams emphasized their commitment to meeting expectations set by the district and its voters, with design and preconstruction work now well underway.

KNCC Project Managers Robert Frazier and Daniel Jeffrey led the presentation on preconstruction progress, detailing how their team is preparing for the summer start. Andrew Werth of Arcadis also participated in the meeting, offering insight into design milestones and how each phase aligns with the district’s long-term educational vision.

R&C Management Group, serving as the district’s Owner’s Representative, also participated in the public meeting. Derick Baugher, Project Manager with R&C, praised the collaboration on display.

"It’s clear the Arcadis and KNCC teams have a strong grasp on both the technical needs of the projects and the responsibility that comes with delivering on a voter-approved bond,” Baugher said. “They are doing a great job representing the bond and serving the Gervais community.”

The Bond Advisory Committee, made up of community volunteers, plays a key role in monitoring the district’s bond-funded capital improvement program. The group meets regularly to stay informed on planning milestones, review expenditures, and ensure projects are progressing according to the goals outlined in the bond.

Gervais School District is expected to break ground on several projects this summer, when campuses are less active. Work will include upgrades to existing facilities and other approved bond projects aligned with the district’s educational and operational goals.

District leaders, project teams and committee members alike expressed enthusiasm about the momentum building across all aspects of the bond program.

"It’s an exciting time for Gervais,” Baugher added. “We’re honored to be part of a team that’s helping turn a community’s vision into real, lasting improvements for students, staff and families.”
