NEWS/PR: Breaking New Ground - Ridgefield School District Celebrates Elementary School Groundbreaking with Community

On Wednesday, June 18, Ridgefield School District welcomed more than 100 community members, partners, staff, students, and families to the official groundbreaking ceremony for the district’s new elementary school, marking a major step forward in turning the District’s vision into reality.

Hosted by Superintendent Dr. Jenny Rodriquez, the event brought together Ridgefield residents, school leaders, and project partners to celebrate the community’s progress since the successful passage of two school levies earlier this year. This groundbreaking represents not just the start of construction, but the continuation of a shared commitment to meeting the needs of a growing student population.

Triplett-Wellman Contractors, who were selected through the public bidding process, facilitated the ceremonial groundbreaking alongside district and community leaders. As the official general contractor, Triplett-Wellman brings deep experience in delivering high-quality K-12 educational facilities across the region.

"We were excited to have a very competitive bidding process and congratulations to the Triplett-Wellman team for being selected by the district and already on board the project team," said Adam Cormack, Principal Partner at R&C Management Group, serving as Owner’s Representative for the district. "This is an important milestone for this project, and it’s clear the district was prepared to hit the ground running. This is a great team coming together at the right time."

The event also brought out longtime Ridgefield design partner LSW Architects, with Associate Chad Daarud in attendance. LSW’s longstanding collaboration with Ridgefield School District has played a vital role in shaping educational spaces that reflect the values and needs of the community.

From pre-levy, to levy passage, pre-bid, to today’s groundbreaking, R&C Management has been proud to support the district at every step. Ridgefield’s growth and momentum are a reflection of both community trust and clear leadership, and R&C is honored to help steward this transformational work.

“This project is about more than construction, it’s about meeting the moment,” said Cormack. “And the Ridgefield community is doing just that.”

Stay tuned for more updates as construction gets underway and Ridgefield continues building for the future.
