Gervais School District athletic fields project nearing completion
GERVAIS, Ore. — Gervais School District is nearing completion of a major upgrade to its athletic fields, a summer project that supports student athletes and the wider community. While separate from the district’s 2024 bond-funded improvements, the fields project reflects the same long-term commitment to modernizing facilities and promoting student success.
The project includes a renovated football field with new turf, striping and graphics, a refreshed softball infield, and upgraded sports lighting to improve safety and extend use into evening hours.
As of July 28, the district had completed turf installation on the football field and placed the softball infield. Final granular material is being installed in early August. New sports lighting has arrived and is currently being installed.
While this project is not part of the 2024 bond program, it remains a key investment in student experience and campus improvement. The upgraded fields will provide safe, modern spaces for students to practice, compete and build essential skills such as teamwork and school pride, strengthening both educational and extracurricular opportunities in the district.
The project is on track to be completed before the start of the fall sports season. The district plans to host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the fields.
