NEWS/PR: City of Camas and Camas-Washougal Fire Department Advance Station 41 Headquarters Project

CAMAS, Washington. - Sept. 5, 2025 - The City of Camas and the Camas-Washougal Fire Department marked another milestone today in the development of the new Station 41 Headquarters project in downtown Camas. The project, funded through a voter-approved General Obligation Bond, represents a significant investment in public safety and the long-term health of the community.
This morning, R&C Management Group, serving as Owner’s Representative to the City of Camas, facilitated the GC/CM (General Contractor/Construction Manager) Pre-Proposal Meeting. The event drew tremendous turnout and interest from potential partners eager to participate in this important municipal project. The next step will be to complete the public bidding process to identify the best GC/CM partner for this complex, multi-phased project.
The project team includes Camas-Washougal Fire Department leadership, Aetta Architects as architect of record, and TCA Architects and Planning as specialty fire station design consultant, bringing extensive expertise in civic and public safety design. Together with R&C Management Group as Owner’s Representative providing GC/CM Program Management and Construction Project Management. The team has been collaborating this year to navigate the site’s complexity and ensure the facility delivers maximum value to the public.
“The partnership with Aetta Architects and the City of Camas has been excellent,” said Adam Cormack, Principal Partner and GC/CM Program Manager for R&C Management Group. “This project is about more than building a fire station, it’s about delivering a resilient, high-performing headquarters that strengthens emergency response for the entire Camas-Washougal community.”
In July, the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services Project Review Committee (PRC) formally interviewed the project team, their GC/CM application, and ultimately approved the project’s use of the GC/CM delivery method. This approval underscores the project’s unique complexity and ensures early contractor involvement to maximize cost control, schedule certainty, and public benefit.
As planning and procurement continue, City leaders, design partners, and R&C remain committed to delivering a project that reflects the community’s investment and enhances public safety.
More updates will be shared as the Station 41 project moves forward.
