NEWS/PR: A Community Vision Takes Shape - Groundbreaking Celebrates the Future of Fire Station 41 and Administrative Offices

This week, the City of Camas, the Camas-Washougal Fire Department, project partners, and community leaders gathered to celebrate a significant milestone in the development of the new Fire Station 41 and Administrative Office Project.

The groundbreaking event was intentionally focused on the people who helped bring the project to this point. City leadership, elected officials, fire department personnel, design professionals, construction partners, and community stakeholders each had the opportunity to take part in the ceremonial turning of the soil and mark the beginning of construction.

The new Fire Station 41 and Administrative Offices represent an investment in the future of public safety for the Camas and Washougal communities. Designed to support modern emergency response operations, firefighter health and safety, training, and administration, the facility will serve as the headquarters for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department and support emergency services for decades to come.

The project reflects years of planning, community engagement, and collaboration. Following voter approval of the 2024 Public Safety Bond, the City worked closely with residents, department leadership, and project partners to develop a facility that meets both current and future community needs.

As construction begins, the community will see the project move through several important milestones, including utility improvements, site preparation, demolition activities, and the eventual construction of the new facility.

Projects like this are only possible through strong partnerships. The City of Camas is leading the effort alongside the Camas-Washougal Fire Department, AETTA Architects, TCA Architecture + Planning, Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty Company, and R&C Management Group.

At R&C, we are honored to support the City of Camas and project team as the Owner's Representative and look forward to helping deliver a facility that will strengthen emergency response capabilities and serve the community for generations to come.

The groundbreaking may have been a brief moment, but it represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter for public safety in Camas and Washougal.
