NEWS/PR: Summer Momentum - Gervais School District Makes the Most of a Busy Construction Season

GERVAIS, Ore. — Summer is always an important construction window for school districts, and this year Gervais School District is making the most of every day.

Across the District, construction teams are taking advantage of empty classrooms and quieter campuses to move projects forward while limiting impacts to students and staff. From renovations and facility improvements to major building systems, months of planning are becoming visible throughout Gervais.

One project generating particularly good news is the mechanical system upgrade at Gervais Elementary School.

Smart planning creates value beyond one project

Mechanical improvements are not always the most visible projects happening on a school campus, but they can be among the most important. Reliable and efficient building systems contribute directly to comfortable learning and working environments for students and staff while supporting the long-term operation of District facilities.

Even better, Gervais School District has been able to secure the Elementary School mechanical improvements well within the established project budget.

That positive budget performance has benefits beyond the work at a single school. Maintaining savings and flexibility within individual projects helps protect the larger capital program, giving the District more opportunity to respond to evolving needs, manage changing construction conditions and maximize its overall investment in facilities.

It is another example of the value of thoughtful planning, competitive procurement and close collaboration among the District and its project partners.

A busy summer across Gervais

The Elementary School mechanical improvements are just one part of an active summer construction season.

Across Gervais School District, projects are progressing at multiple campuses as teams work to complete as much construction as possible while students are away. Each completed project represents another step toward the District's larger goal of creating safe, functional and durable facilities that support students, staff and the community for years to come.

The progress is exciting to see, particularly as work that began with planning, design, budgeting and procurement becomes something the community can see and experience firsthand.

And there is much more to share.

As summer construction wraps up and students return to campus, Gervais School District and its project team look forward to highlighting the completed work, the value delivered and the improvements waiting for students and staff in the new school year.

As the District’s Owner’s Representative, R&C is proud to help Gervais maximize its investment and deliver projects that create lasting value for students, staff and the community.

More to come soon from a very busy summer in Gervais.
